FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Edupoint
Educational Systems Announces that they have been selected by Mesa
Public Schools to Provide a Web-based Student Information System
Edupoint
is developing GENESIS,
a General Education Student Information System, for Mesa Public
Schools and will be offering it widely starting later this year.
Edupoint
Educational Systems is pleased to announce that they have been selected
by Mesa Public Schools to provide its next generation web-based
General Education Student Information System: GENESIS.
Edupoint was selected by Mesa, one of the largest K-12 school districts
in the nation with over 75,000 students, because "Edupoint
offered a strong record of developing Student Administrative Systems,
and because of its proven record of meeting Mesa Public Schools
student administrative requirements over the past ten years,"
according to Robert Weathers, President and founder of Edupoint
Educational Systems. Weathers adds, "the most important factor
in Mesa's selection of Edupoint, was our offer to enter into a full
partnership with Mesa to develop this highly sophisticated system.
We are training Mesa technical staff in the use of its web development
tool, Revelation Technology (RT)." According to
Tom McGrew, one of the designers of RT, "RT allows our client
districts to modify and enhance GENESIS in-house
to meet their specific district requirements."
Mesa
Public Schools put their trust in Weathers and his team previously
when they selected the SASI* Student Information System over 10
years ago. Mesa's confidence in the ability of Edupoint's technical
team to develop and deliver GENESIS was based
on this long-standing relationship. "Our technical team created
the SASIxp Student Information System," said Weathers. "We
were the first to develop a Microsoft* Windows* based system, the
first to feature drag and drop technology, and the first to support
multiple platforms and data-bases. We set the standard for Student
Information Systems, and with over 20,000 installed school sites,
SASIxp is also the most widely installed SIS in the nation."
Mesa
Public Schools selection of SASI as their SIS administrative solution
in 1991 was the most important event in the success of Weather's
prior company, Macro Educational Systems. Weather's recalls "When
Mesa selected us in 1991 we were a small company and we had to devote
every resource in the company to meet their very ambitious goals.
As a result Mesa Public Schools became our strongest advocate and
most powerful reference. After the success at Mesa, Macro Educational
systems went on to win major SASI SIS contracts at Long Beach Unified
and Houston Independent School Districts. By 1997, when Macro was
acquired by National Computer Systems, we were well on the way of
dominating the K-12 SIS market."
Edupoint
is counting on the partnership with Mesa Public Schools to once
again serve as their springboard to success in the K-12 market.
The core technical team at Edupoint has been together for over 10
years and has the technical tools and expertise to succeed. Edupoint's
goal with GENESIS is nothing less than to
once again set the technical standard for the new generation of
web-based Student Information Systems.
GENESIS
is currently under development. The Elementary school modules are
scheduled for beta test in January 2004. RT is the foundation for
Edupoint's GENESEA Special Education software,
which is currently deployed. Edupoint will showcase GENESIS
and GENESEA at the CETPA conference in Santa
Barbara in November 2003.
About
Edupoint
Edupoint is in the business to develop and support K-12 student
administrative products. At Edupoint we believe in creating a partnership
rather than a dependency relationship with school districts. What
truly sets Edupoint apart from the crowd is that this philosophy
is reflected in our technology. Edupoint understands that school
districts today face many challenges, including the need to manage
change, the need to reduce training and overall costs, to extend
the lifespan of applications and to leverage the best resources
to do these things. The technology that Edupoint has developed in
RT, GENESIS and GENESPED
enables school districts to meet these challenges successfully.
