Fairfax
County Public Schools Selects Edupoint Educational Systems
Foothill Ranch, CA
A
new Special Education Administration System to be implemented in
Fairfax.
Fairfax
County, VA - January 31, 2005 - Fairfax
County Public Schools selects Edupoint's GENESEA
Special Education Administration software to manage special education
information and Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students
in the nation's 12th largest school district.
After
a lengthy selection process that included reviewing proposals from
vendors around the nation, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
purchased the web-based GENESEA
Special Education Administration software to service the needs of
special education students in the district. GENESEA
is an important addition to the district's administrative software
environment. The product enables case managers to electronically
track and report student progress within FCPS special education
programs. Information is easily maintained and reported in a truly
secure environment that is needed to preserve the privacy of sensitive
student information. GENESEA
software will help FCPS do the following:
Enhance communication and instruction by maintaining student
goals in an electronic format
Enhance the efficiency of the IEP development process
Provide online access to classroom and testing accommodations
Facilitate the timely and accurate collection and reporting of
information
Support special education teacher retention
Support special education staffing
Reduce paperwork
The
wealth of education and technology experience within Edupoint Educational
Systems, along with a long standing reputation for excellence in
service, made this K-12 software vendor stand out in the crowd.
Edupoint's attention to quality services, as well as their flexible
and comprehensive products, helped them win this important account.
"We
are happy to be working in Fairfax County Public Schools once
again," stated Bob Weathers, President and CEO of Edupoint. Mr.
Weathers and his technology team worked with the school district
on previous software implementation projects, such as its student
information system. "A part of the district's decision-making
process included evaluating each vendor's responsiveness to product
support. I'm confident that our history of delivering quality
services is one of the primary reasons we were selected," said
Mr. Weathers.
